Dominik Smyrgała was born on 20th December 1978. A graduate of the University of Warsaw (faculty of Journalism and Political Science, Institute of International Relations); PhD at the Institute of Political Studies of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
Previously, he served as the Head of the Political Cabinet of the Minister of National Defense of Poland. In the past he was main analyst at the MOD Monitoring and Analysis Center, a member of the board of the Initiatives for the Safety-Development-Energy FIBRE Foundation and deputy director at the Institute of Political Studies of the Polish Academy of Sciences. He worked also for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and for the Military Counterintelligence Service.
He is adjunct professor at the Institute for Foreign Relations and Sustainable Development of Collegium Civitas. Dominik Smyrgała is an author of several dozen publications in the field of energy security, international relations in Latin America, the Balkans and the area of the former USSR and the history of special services. In 2014 awarded as the Financier of the Year.
He tries to spend his free time with his children and to do active tourism.
