The participation of the Polish Armed Forces in the PKW EUFOR/MTT was initiated by troops of the 2nd Mechanized Brigade from Złocieniec, carrying out its mission in a training and advisory capacity.
The main tasks of the Polish Military Contingent are training and the enhancement of military capabilities of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the monitoring of the security situation, cooperation with the representatives of local authorities, public institutions and NGO’s in the zone of responsibility.
The Polish Military Contingent of EUFOR/MTT in Bosnia and Herzegovina consists of nearly 50 soldiers. The core of the first rotation was made up of the 2nd Mechanized Legionów Brigade from Złocieniec, whose PKW Commander was Lt. Col. Dariusz Pałaczyński. The second rotation of the PKW EUFOR/MTT was commanded by Lt. Col. Jacek Chamera. The third rotational change of the PKW EUFOR/MTT was commanded by Lt. Col. Jacek Zienkowicz, with troops coming from the 2nd Mechanized Legionów Brigade, the 4th rotation of the PKW EUFOR/MTT was commanded by Major Mirosław Zyber (troops of the 7th Pomeranian Coastal Defense Brigade from Słupsk and specialists from other units of the Polish Armed Forces). The 6th rotation of the PKW EUFOR was commanded by Lt. Col. Jarosław Jałowski, the 7th rotation (2014), by Lt. Col. Krzysztof Karczewski, while the 8th rotation, by Major Andrzej Szybisty.
The Polish Military Contingent of EUFOR/MTT in Bosnia and Herzegovina consists of 39 soldiers. Currently, the 9th rotation of the Polish Military Contingent of EUFOR /MTTNEC EUFOR/MTT is commanded by Lt. Col. Zygmunt Głogowski, with soldiers of the 2nd Mechanized Brigade from Złocieniec, which is part of the 12th Szczecin Mechanized Division. Currently, the IX rotation of the PKW EUFOR/MTT shows Lt. Col. Zygmunt Głogowski at its head, with core soldiers of 2 Mechanized Brigade.
