Victoria Nuland visits Poland’s Ministry of Defense

Poland’s Minister of Defense, Antoni Macierewicz, met today with Victoria Nuland, Assistant U.S. Secretary of State, during the Secretary’s working visit in Poland.

Topics of discussion included security issues in our region, the strengthening of the eastern flank of the NATO Alliance, and the situation on the southern flank of NATO.

Victoria Nuland and Antoni Macierewicz also discussed the upcoming NATO Summit in Warsaw and the decisions stemming from the meeting of the Alliance’s Defense Ministers in Brussels, which ended today.

Also, discussions took place related to the announcement by the United States concerning an increase of expenditures, strengthening NATO’s military presence in Europe, in the framework of the European Reassurance Initiative (ERI).

A visit by such a high-ranking diplomat in Warsaw and meetings held with Polish politicians further confirms the good state of Polish-American relations.
