Deputy Minister on GLOBSEC
On 26th and 27th of May this year, Undersecretary of State in the Ministry of Defense Tomasz Szatkowski took part in the Global Security Forum GLOBSEC organized in Bratislava.
Minister Szatkowski as well as Gen. Phillip Breedlove, Former Supreme Allied Commander Europe (SACEUR) was a panelist on the session "Disruptive Technologies and Future Conflict: Investing In The Future Of Defense"
Discussions concerning current and future battlefields, specifics of information warfare and hybrid actions were raised. The usefulness and importance of critical and groundbreaking technologies in the context of new security challenges have also been discussed.
Minister Szatkowski referred also to the Strategic Defense Review and the proposals concerning the development of defense capabilities of the Polish Armed Forces, indicating the need to build the defense capabilities of the state on the basis of both conventional military equipment and human potential as well as state-of-the-art technologies.
The GLOBSEC Forum has assembled politicians, diplomats and experts from around the world for the twelfth time. Topics such as the role of Europe in global security architecture, adaptation of NATO to future challenges and global trends in economics and politics were discussed The conference was attended by the President of the Republic of Poland Andrzej Duda.
