Polish Armed Forces Day in Battlegroup Latvia

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Poland Mateusz Morawiecki met on August 15, in Adazi military base in the Republic of Latvia with Polish soldiers carrying out mandate tasks in the eFP Battle Group Latvia. He was accompanied by the Undersecretary of State in the Ministry of National Defense Tomasz Szatkowski.

The main point of the celebrations of the Polish Armed Forces Day was the military parade. The Polish Prime Minister, Mr. Mateusz Morawiecki, Undersecretary of State of the Ministry of Defense, Minister Tomasz Szatkowski and Commander of the Polish Military Contingent in Latvia Arkadiusz Skórnóg handed over the acts of promotion to the next higher military rank to the soldiers of the contingent.

The Polish Prime Minister together with the Head of the Joint Headquarters of the Latvian National Armed Forces Brigadier General Ivo Mogilnijs lit a candle at the monument Vienotiba Speks, which commemorates soldiers who lost their lives in missions. The candles were also lit by a delegation of representatives of the Polish Government composed of: Secretary of State, Chief of the Chancellery of the Prime Minister, Mr. Michał Dworczyk, Undersecretary of State of the Ministry of Defense, Mr. Tomasz Szatkowski, Undersecretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Mr. Bartosz Cichocki, Commander of the Center of Air Operations of the Air Component Command Brigadier General Dariusz Malinowski.

The candles were also lit by the commander of the Polish Military Contingent in Latvia, Major Arkadiusz Skórnóg.

After lighting the candle, the Prime Minister was acquainted with the military equipment that is on eFP equipment. At the end of the visit, the Prime Minister made a commemorative entry in the Commemorative Book of the Polish Military Contingent of Latvia, and a commemorative photograph was taken together with the NEC soldiers.'

The Prime Minister Morawiecki and minister Szatkowski the Holy Mass, which was celebrated in the chapel in the base of Adazi by the chaplain of the Polish contingent Lt Tomasz Serwin.

During the visit the Prime Minister was accompanied by: Secretary of State, Chief of the Chancellery of the Prime Minister, Minister Michał Dworczyk, Undersecretary of State in the Ministry of National Defense, Minister Tomasz Szatkowski, Undersecretary of State in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Minister Bartosz Cichocki, charge d'affaires a.i. Of the Republic of Poland in the Republic of Latvia Ms. Ewelina Brudnicka and the Commander of the Center for Air Operations of the Air Component Command, Mr. Brigadier General pilot Dariusz Malinowski.
