Minister Szatkowski stressed the great importance of our strategic alliance with Great Britain. He also expressed hope for a quick ratification of the Treaty on Defence and Security Cooperation, which was signed in December 2017.

Different areas of defence cooperation between Poland and Great Britain were discussed, including Great Britain engagement in the enhanced Forward Presence on NATO’s Eastern Flank. In this context, the need for close bilateral cooperation in the NATO framework as well as priorities for the upcoming NATO Summit in Brussels were highlighted.

Other aspects of Great Britain military presence in Poland and joint Polish-British defence projects were also discussed. In addition, parties agreed to continue cooperation aimed at enhancing the interoperability of armed forces and strengthening the operational capabilities within the framework of the Polish Armed Forces modernization.

Undersecretary Szatkowski visited the Allied Rapid Reaction Corps (ARRC) in Innsworth and the Royal School of Artillery in Larkhill. He also put a wreath on Polish War Memorial in Northolt.
