On Friday, April 29, Polish defence minister paid a visit to Romania. As he mentioned Romania remains  one of the most important strategic partners in Europe.  I am really glad that our joint cooperation has been developing intensively and that year is really critical thanks among others of the  mutual deployment of troops in a company size   within framework of NATO Eastern flank reinforcement.

Battalion Air Defense Artillery "Blue Scorpions" joined on April 13 rd the  US led NATO Battle Group  Poland that has been settled in Orzysz,

Minister Macierewicz emphasized that support given by Allies has to be complemented by  national efforts and capabilities. He informed that in Poland there is  a plan to increase defence budget from current level as  2% GDP to 2.5%  GDP

During talks military bilateral cooperation was discussed and also interlocutors assessed the security situation in the region of Black and Baltic sea. Ministers have also exchanged their views on planned  changes in NATO command system.

They also met with staff of the Multinational Division South East  (MND SE) and discussed future  involvement in Multinational Division North- East that has been newly creating  in Elbląg.

Polish and Romanian delegations led by ministers visited also NATO HUMINT Centre Of Excellence   (COE HUMINT) in Oradea where perspectives of future cooperation have been discussed  between HUMIT and  NATO Counter Intelligence Centre of Excellence (CI COE)  from Cracow.
