On 16th of June, Undersecretary of State in the Ministry of National Defence Mr. Tomasz Szatkowski hosted the Director General for defence policy in the Federal Ministry of Defence of Germany, Mr Géza Andreas von Geyr.
Other participants of the meeting were: on the polish side Chief of the General Staff of the Polish Armed Forces, LtGen Leszek Surawski and First Deputy of the Commander-in-Chief of the Polish Armed Forces, MajGen Jan Śliwka; on the German side Deputy of the Inspector General of the German Armed Forces LtGen Markus Kneip and Director General for Planning LtGen Erhard Bühler. Representatives of both Polish and German defence ministries were also present.
The talks focused on the bilateral defence cooperation, collaboration between land forces and navy and perspectives of arms cooperation. Both delegations discussed the issues of common interest related to the Multinational Corps North-East in Szczecin and Multinational Division in Elbląg.
Undersecretary Szatkowski and Director von Geyr underlined the importance of mutual contacts and expressed the willingness of pragmatic development of mutually profitable collaboration that will strengthen security of the eastern flank of NATO and the European Union.
