Visit of the Acting Secretary Robert M. Speer
On Friday, Acting Secretary of the United States Army Robert M. Speer was a guest at the Ministry of National Defense, where he met with Secretary of State Bartosz Kownacki and Undersecretary of State Tomasz Szatkowski.
Deputy Minister Tomasz Szatkowski thanked for American commitment in strengthening European security. He emphasized that we appreciate the increased US military presence on NATO's eastern flank, and we look forward to further intensifying the alliance and bilateral cooperation. In this context, the party discussed The Mission Command Element, which is deployed in Poznan, and is tasked with coordinating American operations on the eastern flank.
The Acting Secretary of the United States Army has expressed his appreciation for the involvement of the Polish side in adapting the infrastructure for stationing US troops and equipment.
Deputy Minister Szatkowski also reported the Strategic Defense Review progress and the actions that will be taken in the coming months in its aftermath. During talks with the Acting Secretary, issues of strategic partnership with the United States and cooperation of military technology were discussed, as well as the current security situation in Central Europe. In addition, the talks addressed military-technical-industrial cooperation, in this regard the Polish modernization programs WISŁA and HOMAR.
