We create authentic security system
- Poland attaches a great importance to cooperation in the B9 Group and between the countries of the Eastern Flank - assured Mariusz Błaszczak, the Minister of National Defense during the B9 Meeting in defence ministers’ format.
On Tuesday, Minister Mariusz Błaszczak took part in B9 initiative defence ministers’ meeting taking place in Bucharest. Ministers of Defense from Poland, Romania, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania and Slovakia attended the meeting.The officials talked, among others, about principles of cooperation between NATO's Eastern Flank countries, as well as about building a security system in this region of Europe.
- I would like to thank the defense minister of Romania for our cooperation, for preparing this meeting. NATO's Eastern Flank countries, that cooperate so well together, create a security system. Our historical experience requires to remember about threats. Cooperation within NATO, cooperation with the United States, let us create a real security system - emphasized the minister.
- Our cooperation is crucial. I am very pleased that the decisions taken in Warsaw in 2016 have been implementing. I am glad about our cooperation, which is based, among others, on the fact that we are not only security recipients, but also security donors. This partnership guarantees our security. I would also like to stress that we are trying to ensure that this defensive nature bonds, also have the character of economic cooperation - noted the Head of the Defense Ministry.
In the afternoon, Minister Mariusz Blaszczak will visit the Multinational Brigade South-East and the Polish Military Contingent Romania stationed in Craiova within the framework of the tailored Forward Presence (tFP) of NATO.
During the NATO Summit in Warsaw, it was decided that countries of the Alliance should start to build the deterrence potential in the Southern part of NATO's Eastern Flank. Poland from the beginning declared its readiness to support the tailored Forward Presence (tFP).
