Poland’s President and Defence Minister Visit the DO RSZ
During the meeting, which took place on 28 October at the HQ’s of the DO RSZ in Warsaw, the Deputy Operational Commander of the Types of Armed Forces Brigadier General Sławomir Wojciechowski presented the essential tasks and organizational structure of the command.
Another point of the meeting, in which National Security Bureau Chief Paweł Soloch also took part, was a briefing dedicated to the security situation in the region.
The meeting was also an opportunity to present the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Poland and the Minister of National Defence with conclusions of this year's Anaconda–16 exercises, in relation to the functioning of Command and Control Operations.
Anaconda–16 was the largest training exercise involving troops in Poland since 1989. In several phases, the exercise involved close to 31,000 troops. The exercise was a response to today's challenges in the sphere of security, a demonstration of unity and solidarity of the Allied forces, Alliance capabilities and readiness for collective defense of the territory of Member States and the Alliance's rapid response to emerging threats.
During their stay at the DO RSZ, the President and Defence Minister also held a video conference with Polish Military Contingents. During the talks, they were briefed on the current state of security in the region where Polish troops are stationed and the general tasks of the contingents. Reports were presented by representatives of the following Polish Military Contingents: OIR Iraq, OIR Kuwait, Afghanistan, Kosovo and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
